San Francisco garter snake

An endangered snake of the Pacifica ponds and wetlands, whose prey is the California red-legged frog.

The San Francisco garter snake is an endangered species that lives in the ponds and marshes around Mori Point, Sharp Park and Rockaway. Ponds dug at Mori Point by 2005 were meant to bring back the red-legged frog, and the snakes were seen foraging next to them in 2007.
