Pedro Point & Devil’s Slide
Pedro Point and Shelter Cove sit in Pacifica’s south-west corner, below Devil’s Slide, the cliff that closed Highway 1 for decades until the tunnels opened in 2013.

Discover Pedro Point & Devil’s Slide
Devil’s Slide is a steep, rocky promontory between Pacifica and Montara; its name comes from slopes prone to failure. The highway built across it in 1935-36 replaced Pedro Mountain Road and was often closed by landslides. (Wikipedia)
On March 25, 2013 the Tom Lantos Tunnels opened behind the cliffs, and on March 27, 2014 the old roadway became the 1.3-mile Devil’s Slide Trail for walkers and cyclists. (Wikipedia)
Pedro Point and Shelter Cove make up the neighborhoods in the south-west corner of Pacifica. (Pacifica Chamber of Commerce)
